#AUTUMN: #Hamburg is quite beautiful, instead of the many parks we have in London, the entire city is lined with trees. The parkland at #PlantenUnBlomen is particularly well-kept, the Japanese garden only augmenting it rather than being a highlight. The (largest in Germany) open-air ice rink should be coming soon, and then there’s a bit of a fight to turn it back into a giant #rollerskate park from April to September, as the new surface isn’t skate-friendly… #Germany #park #leicapower #summilux

#BILLINGHAM550: I’m packing up to leave the UK, and this beast is still with me. 30 years ago, @dgovarnie and I went shopping to buy him a guitar and me a camera bag. I don’t know if that guitar is still alive but this bag, the venerable Billingham 550 definitely is. Needs a service and a replacement end pocket but it’s still carting my camera gear or my clothes, depending on the occasion. £150 in 1992. They’re still making it! £689 in 2022! #SEQUINSKATE: it happened, mainly thanks to @conroybryony lending me her hotpants and @saffstickles pinning them to my actual pants, additional support from @sparkyspx, @lolainlondon and @brian_beaver, and general good vibes from everyone on the @lfns.co.uk Sunday Stroll team. I’m 48½ and this is NOT happening again. Over £1100 raised for @sheltercharity [ [ LINK IN BIO ] ] and I have a slightly more positive body image of myself, which was completely unexpected, so there’s a tale for @_bodygossip. Shortish skate, 9 miles in the heat, but great tunes from @steve.brown.58323431 and big shout to #Northops for setting the challenge, creating the fundraiser, raising most of the cash in minutes, and being the most prestigious tech community around.
