QUEENSROAD | Friday, July 31, 2020

11:23 AM

#QUEENSROAD: my perfect way of enjoying #RichmondPark is with a #bicycle and to stray off the main road whenever possible, partially because the road is most likely place to meet inconsiderate road users, but also because one must explore. We followed this small herd of #deer - safely, with binoculars - down from the woods just past the Dip Pond. #park #lockup #nature #london #richmond #explore #exploremore

WISHINGTREE | Thursday, July 30, 2020

9:14 PM

#WISHINGTREE: #Wiltshire is a #magical country with wonderful light and has never let me down. Must spend more time around this marvellous group of beech trees. #lordoftherings #lotr #trees #roots #ruralphotography #countryside #bwphotography #blackandwhitephotography #leica #leicaq2

AVEBURY | Thursday, July 30, 2020

8:58 PM

#AVEBURY: a walk through the stones. I have only admired #Stonehenge from afar and never actually visited, but this is my fourth or so visit to Avebury over twenty years. It’s a bit more organized than it once was, and many more people, but still a magical place at a human scale. #henge #stonecircle #prehistoric #neolithic #worldheritage #worldheritagesite #countryside #bwphotography #blackandwhitephotography #leica #leicaq2 #summilux #rural #ruralbritain #britain

RWC2019 | Tuesday, July 21, 2020

10:23 PM

#RWC2019: try not to look too #shocked when South Africa beat us. Could have been worse, at least we gave the #AllBlacks a good kicking, less good that it does send #NZ domestic violence through the roof. Nice to be back in #Whitton for the game, though. #rugbyunion #rugby #rugbyworldcup #twickenham #england #pub #leicaq2 #leica

FISHING | Tuesday, July 21, 2020

9:33 PM

#FISHING: while mainly a shorthand for “I’m off to the pub with my mates for twelve hours ok byee” this is quite dedicated at gone ten o’clock in the evening. #devon #seaton #streetphotography #leicaq2 #fishermen #angling #sea #seaside #twilight

ATMA | Monday, July 20, 2020

1:02 PM

#ATMA: This is my eldest, and coolest cousin, with my late auntie Chandra on the back of the bike. This is in front of the family house in #Pondicherry. Family legend has it that just after he was born, in 1960, he was given the soul of his recently-deceased uncle, who was killed in a motorcycle accident aged 19. The family says he is just like his uncle. I think I took this picture in 1994, and printed it at the @northlondondarkroom in 2013-ish. #motorcycle #sriaurobindoashram #themother #pondi #india #streetphotography #yashicamat124g

CHINOOK | Sunday, July 19, 2020

7:22 PM

#CHINOOK: the helicopter is just about to kill the small group of #yout with an air strike because this pandemic is entirely the fault of #shellfish #induhviduals and in no way can the government be responsible. #ham #leicaq2

MILLINER | Saturday, July 18, 2020

3:49 PM

#MILLINER: I had to venture to @thelondonlibrary yesterday to return a library book - first time in Central London since mid-March. Popped down Crown Passage for a drink and spotted one of the local milliners has a sense of scale. #london #lockdown #socialdistancing #madasahatter

GANGES | Wednesday, July 8, 2020

9:38 PM

#GANGES: #Varanasi is one of my least favourite places in #India, but there were still moments of joy in this town. This river is a law unto itself, a host to the most incredible numbers of antibiotic-resistent bacteria, but surprisingly, they are present from the #Himalayan foothills onwards, rather than your usual suspects in the picture. #Rishikesh is the demarcation line between clean and not-clean, it seems. The river is actually an amazing opportunity for research into bacteria and drug-resistance. Also, we all miss the magical quality of the most vivid film we’ve ever seen, #Fuji #Velvia #rvp50 #velvia50 #nikon
