#LEICAM9: goodbye to this one, just over ten years, and 16300 pictures later. Not a huge amount of use, but a constant companion. Travels across North America, Europe, Asia and Oz, and a little trip on a #Gaza boat led to eight months in Israeli captivity, but she’s off to a new home now and hopefully a lot more use. #leica #m9 #leicacamera

My LEAST favourite camera, the #M9, just came back from a service at #Leica. It needed yet another new sensor or board, and I asked them to fix the damaged back and then, while they were at it, to replace the top plate. They sent back the old bits, and the damn thing looks a new camera. The dials have been a bit tetchy ever since I spilled a pint on them, and all the new controls are way better than the old ones. I also bought a case: time to protect this stupid thing. #leicam #leicam9 #rangefinder
And it’s back! #Leica have replaced the faulty sensor for free, on a camera that’s from 2009. Not that this a great camera to begin with, but it’s nice to use. And they switched out the covering with a really lovely new leathery material. The upgrade to an #M240 was around £2200, but glad I picked up an #EOS1Dx instead for a lot less. #LeicaM9 #rangefinder
