Twenty years ago, my old boss #RudyTambala introduced me to #MarshallMcLuhan via the book on the left. He was a media theorist with lunatic ideas, and died in 1980, almost two decades earlier. But suddenly, his former student #PaulLevinson rolled up with a book showing how McLuhan had grasped our new digital media and communications before we had barely invented it. Incredible. Few books last the ages, and certainly when it comes to technology, but it would not be unreasonable to call #McLuhan a #prophet. #media #culturalstudies
