Small child asked for this #MichaelJackson album when we were at the record shop, we went back for it as a treat. Finally playing it, just missed Jacko’s birthday, and remembered seeing him at Wembley, July 14, 1988, fricking 30 YEARS AGO for the opening night of his first solo tour. He was 29 and pretty much at the peak of his powers (arguably well past his artistic peak) and put on a kick-ass show. I even liked Kim Wilde.

One year, #GeorgeMichael was that twat from #Wham! and the next, he was suddenly, well George Michael. #Faith just seemed to come out of nowhere, and in the year of #MichaelJackson’s #Bad, held its own for airplay and visibility. Most other albums would have sunk without exposure. Packed with fantastic musicians like #HughBurns and glistening with crystal-clear production, it still sounds impeccable, and rewards being turned-up. I went to school with two of his cousins, and while I barely knew them, he was said to be an upstanding dude, a total #mensch, a generous geezer. Our loss. #RIPGeorgeMichael
