#LEICAQ2: goodbye M9, hello Q2. The first month shows that this is the closest possible modern-day equivalent to my beloved #ContaxG2, the fixed lens is unimpeachable, it is whisper-quiet and 47.3MP means huge flexibility in cropping. Perfect EDC camera as it’s pretty weather-sealed. And wifi pictures straight to my phone. Amazing. The #Canon1DX is up for sale too now :) Another ten years for this beast… #leica #mirrorless #rangefinder #summilux

My LEAST favourite camera, the #M9, just came back from a service at #Leica. It needed yet another new sensor or board, and I asked them to fix the damaged back and then, while they were at it, to replace the top plate. They sent back the old bits, and the damn thing looks a new camera. The dials have been a bit tetchy ever since I spilled a pint on them, and all the new controls are way better than the old ones. I also bought a case: time to protect this stupid thing. #leicam #leicam9 #rangefinder

And it’s back! #Leica have replaced the faulty sensor for free, on a camera that’s from 2009. Not that this a great camera to begin with, but it’s nice to use. And they switched out the covering with a really lovely new leathery material. The upgrade to an #M240 was around £2200, but glad I picked up an #EOS1Dx instead for a lot less. #LeicaM9 #rangefinder
