Bookends for a #theatre day, starting with a surprising choice of play for young children - #TheTempest - from the lovely @imbobbond @orangetreetheatre and finishing with an #epic - and I LOVE epics - #SmallIsland @nationaltheatre showing Rufus back on form with a blinding cast and production ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ all the way. #londontheatre
So I read the Old Street roundabout plan wrongly, and the closure is actually on the opposite side to where I was expecting. But a good move, either way. If TFL could speed up buses, our city would be even easier to get around, not to mention cleaner. I wonder what the second- and third-order effects will be, however?

Finally sick of the #gawdawful poly finish that @fender thought it was ok to slap onto my 1999 American Standard #Telecaster, I took it to the #MakerLab and heat-gunned it off, to reveal a staggeringly nice body underneath. Book-matched. And they covered it with metallic plastic. Sheesh. #guitar #fender

When I saw that @natalieabrahami had a new show, and then discovered that I’d seen loads and loads of Ben & Max Ringham’s work going back to Shunt, I was excited. I bloody loved #Machinal. However, I did not like #TheWriter @almeida_theatre by #EllaHickson. Not at all. But I’m glad I booked #ANNA, because I’ve not felt this tense and nervous in any theatre show since forever. It’s a fascinating experience with so much going on, and an absolute must-see, despite a thin and unlikely plot. All the action takes place behind glass, the audience are all wearing headphones and can only hear from Anna’s perspective. So good. Set in an East Berlin apartment in 1968. Go while you can, this is a very hard play to stage, so it might never happen again. @nationaltheatre #london #theatre

Good debut writing in #WhitePearl with a hopeless ending, but funniest play I’ve ever seen centred on racism and stalkers. Writing patched up by production and performances @royalcourttheatre and definitely worth the trip. Some proper LOLZ. #theatre #london

A short photo story. @lolainlondon gave me a bag of random wheels and bearings so I could service my old skates. Anyway, I finally got around to stripping everything down, spraying the frames and boots with motorbike cleaner and washing all the crud off. Then, armed with lithium grease and threadlocker, bolted it all back together. Simple. These skates are 16-17 years old, I think, and skates have improved/changed a lot, but either you can skate or you can’t and the best skates in the world aren’t going to help clueless feet. And also yes, this is a statement of intent. See you Wednesday night on the #londonskate #rollerskating
