Deposit at Hampstead Theatres | Tuesday, May 30, 2017

6:14 PM

Show #26 of #2017 (after an exhausting few weeks) is #Deposit, #MattHartley’s play about two couples sharing a one-bedroom flat in London for year in order to save up… First performed right here @hampstead_theatre #downstairs in 2015, it’s been revised with some cuts, older characters to add to the desperation, and rising prices. And #Brexit “is the unspoken monster at the epicentre of the play”. Great to be back here. #theatre #londontheatre #london

Chummy at White Bear Theatre | Tuesday, May 23, 2017

7:53 PM

Show #25 of #2017 was #Chummy at #whitebeartheatre which I shamefully ignored when I lived nearer. Bit of a miss unfortunately, mostly because it was so fooking cold in there with the AC cranked right up. Story was quite good, acting quite good but it never really got going in the freezing cold. Shame. #johnfoster #alicekornitzer #theatre #londontheatre

Life Of Galileo preview at Young Vic Theatre | Friday, May 12, 2017

11:07 PM

Show #23 of #2017 earlier this week was a preview of #LifeOfGalileo @youngvictheatre which was full of energy and promises to be brilliant in the final run - apart from a tedious and immature musical number in the second half that nearly derailed the entire thing. But they picked it up and brought it back. Great staging, triffic music, make sure you sit around the outside - it’s three hours! #bertholdbrecht #theatre #londontheatre #youngvic

Rosencranz And Guildenstern Are Dead and over-rehearsed at Old Vic Theatre | Sunday, May 7, 2017

11:38 PM

Show #22 of #2017 was a hyped-up #RosencranzAndGuildensternAreDead by the marvellous #TomStoppard. A decent @oldvictheatre production let-down by the two leads barking their well-rehearsed lines far too quickly at each other to give any resemblance of actual witty repartee. Totally overcooked. #DavidHaig was excellent, however. #theatre #london #londontheatre

Twelfth Night at National Theatre | Tuesday, March 21, 2017

7:29 AM

Show #17 of #2017 is a brilliant #TwelfthNight with a fabulous cast including #TamsinGreig - see up-close for all the comedic detail - but I wish they would start casting twins again in #Shakespeare. Definitely worth the praise - and look! Cheap great tickets available @nationaltheatre #london #theatre #londontheatre

Lost Without Words at National Theatre | Monday, March 13, 2017

11:18 PM

Show #15 of #2017 was a sneaky extra, the hilarious and entirely #improvised #LostWithoutWords - six actors in their 70s and 80s on stage for an hour without a script. No previous experience of improvised performance. A definite must-see. And also a rare occasion to meet the lovely #MayaLevy who was telling me about her attempts to meet the #LloydDorfman of #DorfmanTheatre fame :) #theatre #london #londontheatre #nationaltheatre

Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf at Harold Pinter Theatre | Monday, March 6, 2017

8:35 PM

I had no idea that Show #14 of #2017 would be Three Hours! #ImeldaStaunton in #WhosAfraidOfVirginiaWoolf is as good as expected. Cracking show so far, so many good lines :) Extremely steep, vertigo-inducing take in the balcony here. #HaroldPinterTheatre #londontheatre #london #theatre #EdwardAlbee
