TEDDINGTONLOCK | Tuesday, September 21, 2021

7:03 PM

#TEDDINGTONLOCK: I’ve cycled over this bridge more in the week than in the last four decades put together, and the entire procession of pedestrians, prams and cyclists stopped to admire this view. Worth thirty seconds of anyone’s time. #sunset #teddington #thames #lock

DEN | Friday, February 26, 2021

10:22 PM

#DEN: bordering Princess Loewenstein’s beautiful Petersham Lodge lies a little patch of woods which is perfect for den-building, especially when the light floods it in the afternoon. #richmond #thames #petersham #leica #leicaq2

WALKONWATER | Sunday, November 22, 2020

11:01 PM

#WALKONWATER: the #Thames at shallow tide sees every kid and their dog out on the flats looking for shells. #river #london #sunset #richmond

LOCK | Monday, May 18, 2020

5:47 PM

#LOCK/#DOWN: it’s really not safe to swim in the Thames but it’s not particularly sensible to take a dip around the weir either. Luckily, the currents dissipate quickly and very few people take an intermission on the island between the two banks: which is what makes it so delightful for larking about. #lockdown #stuckhomesyndrome #thames #river

Foggy Morning

Always worth looking back on this stretch of the Thames on a morning like this. Lucky me.

HIGHTIDE | Thursday, December 26, 2019

6:29 PM

#HIGHTIDE: the #Thames is still tidal at this point, a few hundred metres from #TeddingtonLock, and flooding from the non-stop rain the last week is widespread. Next picture shows the #river has breached its bank. #landscape #flooding #london #richmond

RIVERLANE | Wednesday, November 20, 2019

12:31 PM

#RIVERLANE: imagine, if you can, an Amphibious Bus (Amphibibus?) as public transport. Straight along River Lane from #Petersham Road, down the slipway and into the Thames. How marvellous would this be? Slow, yesh, but the best way to travel in London. Up and down the slipways. #publictransport #richmond #visitrichmond #thames #london

THAMES | Monday, November 4, 2019

8:51 AM

#THAMES: love a foggy morning, especially when I have a camera handy. ‘Hamme’ in older English means ‘bend in the river’ and this is quite the right-hander here on the way to the station. Good morning. #richmond #visitrichmond #river #foggy #london

RICHMOND | Thursday, October 17, 2019

9:51 AM

#RICHMOND: bumped into my pal Tom, so we walked along the river, slipping and sliding on the silt left behind from high tide. #thames #london #river
