In the morning, I often walk along the #Thames from #Petersham to Richmond Station with my pal Tom, and we usually stop for coffee and cake at @tidetablescafe, sit outside to watch the world go by. Hence you keep seeing the same old shot. But they’re not quite the same. Directly opposite me is a guy fishing. And I watched him catch a fish and net it. Not a bad life, really. #coarsefishing #fishing #london #richmond

What you can’t really see is that someone has parked their car a few feet away from the waterline on the other side of the river, and walked away carrying a backpack, so I don’t think they’re coming back soon. The Thames is tidal at this point, and it only takes a little bit of water to lift a car. I’ve seen cars floating down the river just about every year since I was a kid, all for the sake of some free parking :) #richmond #thames

Teddington Lock last night en route to the #tideendcottage #pub Recently, the weirs here have been lifted for the annual draw-off which is why you may have seen the river particularly low at times. If you didn’t already know that this lock marks the tidal limit of the Thames, well, this lock marks marks the tidal limit of the #Thames. #london #river
