In the morning, I often walk along the #Thames from #Petersham to Richmond Station with my pal Tom, and we usually stop for coffee and cake at @tidetablescafe, sit outside to watch the world go by. Hence you keep seeing the same old shot. But they’re not quite the same. Directly opposite me is a guy fishing. And I watched him catch a fish and net it. What you can’t really see is that someone has parked their car a few feet away from the waterline on the other side of the river, and walked away carrying a backpack, so I don’t think they’re coming back soon. The Thames is tidal at this point, and it only takes a little bit of water to lift a car. I’ve seen cars floating down the river just about every year since I was a kid, all for the sake of some free parking :) #richmond #thames
